Hi there!

Welcome to Cobblestone Chronicles!

Sharing travel stories is always fun and easy but sharing them online is easier and when a group of oddballs come together and decide that they need a platform to share their bit of fascinating travel stories with the world…you have Cobblestone Chronicles!

We are Shamita, Neha, Ankur and Ajinkya – each one of us finding new ways to make the most of our travel memories and, when we’re not typing away work emails or catching up over the weekends, we’re thinking of ways to give you a glimpse of these travel stories! Packed with eventful writing, personal experiences and a whole lot of knowledge, our travel tales are sure to provide you with everything you need to know before you decide where to backpack!

Though we’re busy trying to make fascinating CV's instead of our own travel journals, we do love to venture out and rediscover ourselves, live in the moment, click pictures of sunsets and embarrassing travel selfies, ignore diet plans for the best food in town, fill in our travel diaries as much as we can and forget our gym membership more often than not. But honestly, who doesn’t, right? Unless you’re one of those, “ugh, another travel blog” kind of person, you’re going to have fun reading what we have in store for you! Our writing focuses on destinations we’ve individually been to and we hope our tales impel YOU to visit some of these absolutely breathtaking places because after all, life is a daring adventure or nothing at all, isn’t it?

Feel free to get in touch with us to share your travel stories, or just drop by to say Hi! Find us at: Cobblestone.Chronicles@gmail.com

Pench: Where the Tale of ‘The Jungle Book’ Comes Alive

You won’t believe me at first when I say, we’ve known the mystic land of Pench ever since we were little kids. We loved every bit of how fiction and reality interlaced, weaving an age old story of the adventurous little Mowgli and his wild friends who found comfort in the wilderness, swayed from branches all day, fought the mighty Shere Khan and went after the Red Flower! Take a peek into your childhood days when watching the venturesome Mowgli on TV made you smile. I remember how diligently I never missed an episode! In the cartoon, Mowgli’s home was the astounding forest of Pench, a place that inspired Rudyard Kipling to pen down one of the most loved and appreciated work of children’s literature; The Jungle Book. I almost instantly fell in love with this jungle on my very first safari, understanding why Kipling had decided upon this very forest as the setting for his story. Nestled in the Chhindwara and Seoni districts of Madhya Pradesh, Pench National Park g...

Yours lovingly, Shillong

Tucked away in the East Khasi Hills, is a new-fangled city with a contemporary charisma and vintage charm. Nestled in the heart of the mighty peacemaker of our lovely Seven Sisters - Meghalaya, this bustling hill station is also known as the ‘ Scotland of the East’ . To make an acquaintance (even if not completely) with at least one of our intriguing north eastern sisters had been on my to-explore list for as long as I can remember. I had only seen glimpses of this unexplored paradise in indie music videos or perpetual wall calendars that were hung in my house when I was a kid. Bound by its diverse ethnicity and culture, this done-to-death destination was everything I had imagined it would be, and in fact more. View of the Khasi Valley Shillong was all about the ‘Hygge in the air’ First impressions are important, especially if you are travelling to an unknown destination. Every place has an energy, a vibe. That energy forms my first impression. You must be familiar wi...

Dharamshala and Mcleodganj: The Beating Heart of Himachal!

Dharamshala, alongside its sister-suburb, Mcleodganj, is perhaps the only place which packs a ton of birr, brought together by the breathtaking Himachal food, local shopping experience, treks, and scintillating mountain-sunrises! So here is a question - which is that one place which has often been known as the foxy concoction of culture, nature, food, and religion? I bet you won’t find many destinations with a blend so unique, with a brew so solitary, and with an identity so sui generis! Dharamshala is indeed the beating heart of Himachal Pradesh - being home to the bewitching cedar forests on the edge of the Himalayas, this city welcomes lost wanderers and excursionists alike, and surprisingly enough, entertains both the demographics.   A typical view from Dharamshala, with the phenomenal snow-clad Dhauladhars in the backdrop I travelled to Dharamshala following my weeklong backpacking respite in Bir-Billing . Having already experienced the hippodrome of nature’s bounty and advent...
